SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT


Job Title:Solutions Architect
Department:Technical Solutions
Location:Lagos, Nigeria


RESPONSIBILITIES
As Solutions Architect, he will join the technical sales team to develop and articulate solutions based on customers’ strategic business and technical requirements ascertained from working with multiple business units across the customer’s organization
Specifically, the IP System Administrator’s responsibilities shall include:

Provide technical and business consultative leadership throughout the technical life cycle of technical solutions.
Will be involved from pre-sales solution formulation through system deployment; including bid preparation and customer interface resulting in solutions architecture proposals.
The Solutions Architect will develop and articulate solutions based on a customer’s strategic business or technical requirements ascertained from working with multiple business units across the customer’s organization.
Develop and propose solutions.
The Solutions Architect will prepare the technical solutions architectural and implementation design documents.
The Solutions Architect will work closely with the Project Manager to define project deliverables and schedules and help to identify and leverage resources in order to satisfy the technical needs and objectives of the implementation.
Assess solutions for their commercial merits and provide appropriate recommendations.
The Solutions Architect will maintain awareness of existing or potential customer software/hardware situations and proactively alert the project management, engineering, and customer facing groups of potential problems based upon strong working knowledge of software/hardware compatibility within the customer’s environment.
The Solutions Architect will stay current on technical specifications for hardware/software requirements of industry products through professional associations, trade journals, networking, and associated training and seminars.
Communication & Work Relationships
The Solutions Architect report directly to the Technical Sales Supervisor. The Solutions Architect work closely with members of the Sales, Project Management, Service delivery and members of other teams as required from time to time
The Solutions Architect has regular contact with a number of internal and external stakeholders, these include but are not limited to: Sales Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Information Communication Technology or Engineering
Cisco CCDP/CCNP/CCDE
2-5 years industry experience

COMPETENCIES:
Experience with Cisco equipment essential.
Basic knowledge of networking technologies including but not limited to: TCP/IP (e.g. interpreting a packet trace file), WAN technologies, VPN, QoS, firewalls, routers, switches, DNS, Metro Ethernet, EoSDH.
Experience in designing and deploying standardized Voip technologies; SIP and H.323
Knowledge of Radio/Microwave and terrestrial transmission systems.
Experience in telecom architecture.
Experience relating business requirements to system and infrastructure components and designing the bill of materials for a project.
Creative and innovative approach.
Sound commercial business understanding and risk aware.
Set up and maintain a best practice library of company proposals and architectural designs proposed to customers with success and conversion rate indicators.
Knowledge of solution design with focus on IP/MPLS/IPLC/VOIP/Metro Ethernet/Cloud technologies.
Background in Telecom and/or satellite industry.

NOC SUPPORT ENGINEER

Job Title:NOC Support Engineer
Department:Technical
Reporting Line:NOC Supervisor
Location:Lagos, Nigeria

RESPONSIBILITIES
The NOC Support Engineer will be responsible for the first line network monitoring, surveillance and fault management support on the elements and components of the Main One network, using various network management and trouble ticketing systems.
Specifically, the NOC Support Engineer’ responsibilities include:
Monitor Main One’s network providing specific update, status and performance of all network components, capacity services etc.
Identify and provide at least first line support on all faults on the Main One network in accordance with the Company’s standard operating procedure for fault escalation and management.
Open a trouble ticket (TT) for every network event and ensure it is tracked up to the point of closure.
Maintain and ensure full compliance with all Main One’s NOC processes and procedures
Ensure proper technical documentation of all network events throughout normal/shift cycle or operations.
Answer all network support related telephone calls and interface with internal/external customers on operational issues and related network events, using Main One’s standard operating procedures.
Run daily and weekly management reports on network events and activities as well as tracking escalations and other key performance indicators.
Ensure all customer SLAs are met.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other relevant technical field
Minimum of 3-5 yrs work experience in similar role.
Very good understanding of Main One’s products and processes.
Strong diagnostic, analysis and problem resolution skills with a flexible approach to problem solving.
Capable of multi-tasking, good time management and prioritisation of workload.
Strong analytical skills and able to collate and interpret data from various sources.
Ability to assess and prioritise faults and respond or escalate accordingly.

PROJECT OFFICER

Job Title:Project Officer

RESPONSIBILITIES
The project officer reports directly to the Manager, Technical Sales. She/he must have an understanding of project management methodologies, exposure to PMP or PRINCE2 is an advantage, wireless and terrestrial network experience will be an added advantage. The position is accountable, on-time and on-budget for service delivery.

Specifically, the project officer’s responsibilities include:
Ensures the agreed project management methods, standards and processes are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Defines clearly project objective.
Creates and defends project budgets.
Coordinate the installation of network equipment at customer premises or at core network nodes.
Prepares and manages project plans and implementation schedules using MS Project and other suitable software.
Provides the executives with ad hoc and periodic Project environmental reports specifically to do with project costs, lessons learnt and risks
Responsible for the implementation of current product portfolio and new products.
Manage planning and operations teams and external contractors during project execution.
Co-ordinates the production of all reports and produce project summary reports.
Hold regular meetings with all stakeholders on project status.
Produces Project reports for customer and internal consumption.
Controls the project implementation process
Develop and support effective communication mechanisms between the project teams and the rest of the organization.
Develops and maintains the project library, filing, recording and reporting systems.
Assists in invoicing according to milestone.
Assists with the preparation of bid documents.
Assists with equipment ordering and payment of vendor/ contractor invoices.
Escalates project issues timely.

A first degree in Social Sciences or BEng, BSc, BTec, Required.
3-5 years post National Service work experience (NYSC is mandatory)
Must have experience in managing telecom projects.
At least Three (3) years’ experience in a project management role.
PMP or Prince2 project management methodology preferred.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite
